Why not do this: Next time you see a company obviously gaming numbers, send them this mail (or something like this – feel free to comment)
I’d like you to know that the person you hired to do your twitter account is not doing your brand any favours.
Your current strategy will result in
thousands of fake followers who will not read any of your messages.
choosing to follow only to gain followers is called number gaming and is quite obvious to the rest of us, thus reflecting negatively on your company’s credibility.
Why am I contacting you? The more companies choose to pay number gamers, the more fake, bot, and spam accounts will be on twitter. And this is destroying it for the rest of us who are actually using it.
